Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship for Potential Teaching Majors

An International Professional Teachers’ Sorority

 

1.  A scholarship of $500 will be offered over a period of a year to a graduating senior from the Eagle Grove, Clarion-Goldfield, or Webster City communities by the Alpha Delta Kappa teachers’ sorority.

 

2.  Payment of half ($250) will be made to the recipient after completion of the first grading period (semester or quarter) when a copy of the grades with a C average (2.0) or higher has been provided to the Alpha Delta Kappa President/Treasurer/or Scholarship Committee. Payment of the second half ($250) will be made at the beginning of the third grading period of schooling when a copy of the second period grades of C average (2.0) or higher has been provided to the Alpha Delta Kappa President/Treasurer/or Scholarship Committee.

 

3.  The Scholarship funds may be used for payment of tuition, fees, or other related educational cost.

 

4.  To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a senior with these additional requirements:

  1. A.The applicant must have earned at least a 2.5 cumulative high school G.P.A.
  2. B.The applicant must have completed high school courses that meet or satisfy college entrance requirements.
  3. C.The applicant must declare a teaching major.
  4. D.The applicant must enroll as a full time student at a college of his/her choice.

 

5.  A student placed on academic probation by a college at the end of the first grading period will forfeit the scholarship.

 

6.  Turn in the completed application to the counselor’s office by 3 p.m., Friday, April 19

 

7.  A selection committee of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers will select the recipient.

 

8.  The recipient will be notified at either the school’s awards night or by mail.
